Dolphins won’t rule out trading up to No. 1 overall in NFL draft

Dolphins, NFL Draft

The Miami Dolphins are keeping all options open ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft, including trading up to No. 1 overall.

Speaking with media on Tuesday, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier made it clear he’s not ruling anything out when it comes to what he may do atop the draft.

“I don’t think you rule out anything right,” Grier said when asked if he would rule out any move, including moving up to No. 1 (h/t NFL.com). “I think we’re wide open to everything.”

Miami currently owns the No. 5 overall pick, along with No. 18 and No. 26 due to trades with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans. Many mock drafts have them taking a quarterback at No. 5. However, the Fins certainly have plenty of ammunition to make a bold play for the first overall pick if they covet a certain quarterback and want to ensure they land him.

Though, given the reports about what it would take to trade up to No. 1 with Cincinnati, the price tag may be way too high.
