Portland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside has revitalized his career since his arrival in Portland. While the 30-year-old usually dominates in the paint this season, he surprised everyone (including himself) on Thursday by drilling a three.

Needless to say, the Minnesota Timberwolves weren’t expecting the 7-foot center to pull up from behind the three-point line and let it fly. When Whiteside saw the defense leave him wide open though, that’s exactly what he did and hit nothing but net on its way down.

The three-pointer on its own was great, but Whiteside’s reaction of pure shock and amazement made the moment hilarious.

Whiteside has emerged as one of the NBA’s best rebounders this season, averaging 14 per night in 35 games. After coming into Thursday with just one three-pointer made this season, perhaps he’ll start letting it fly more thanks to his 66% rate from deep on the year.
