Report: Tom Brady ‘absolutely, positively’ will play football in 2020

There has been some speculation that Tom Brady may be considering retirement, but a report Saturday by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports pushed back against that notion.

Appearing on CBS Sports’ pregame show ahead of the Patriots’ Wild Card game against the Tennessee Titans, La Canfora made it clear Brady intends to play.

“(Tom) Brady absolutely, positively will play football in 2020, I’m told. The only question is where. It remains to be seen if New England is still the best fit for him, and vice versa after nearly 20 years there.”

Of course, nobody knows if Brady will be back with Bill Belichick and Co. next year. The Patriots made him a lame duck ahead of the 2019 campaign, and there have been hints that Brady knows the end is near in New England.

La Canfora also mentioned the Los Angeles Chargers as a potential fit for Brady. The Chargers are reportedly ready to move on from Philip Rivers, who is also looking to continue playing next season, regardless.
