Report: NFL coaches, execs believe Chiefs will win big over 49ers in Super Bowl LIV

The Kansas City Chiefs opened as slight favorites to beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, but coaches and executives around the league think it could be a blowout.

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report spoke with three assistant coaches and two front office executives, and all five of them said they expect the Chiefs to win big. Freeman also commented that he doesn’t “think this belief is isolated.”

Here’s what one assistant coach had to say about his reasoning for picking the Chiefs to blow out the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV: “There is no defense against Mahomes right now.”

Freeman added that “Not even the 49ers,” can stop Mahomes, per the the coaches and team execs: “To them, no player—at any position—is playing better than Mahomes,” he concludes.

For what it’s worth, the Chiefs have given those coaches and executives reason to believe. His ability to perform under pressure, even being down by multiple scores, is uncommon, and his physical abilities are off the charts amazing.

Then again, the 49ers have proved time and time again this season that they can win games in a multitude of ways, and their defense is the stuff of legend.
