George Kittle injury update: TE expected to be fully healthy for NFC title game

Many San Francisco 49ers fans were in a bit of panic when George Kittle did not practice Wednesday ahead of the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers. On Thursday, head coach Kyle Shanahan put their fears to rest.

Speaking with media ahead of Thursday’s practice, Shanahan said Kittle is expected to be a full participant in practice and that he should be fully healthy for Sunday’s title game.

Via Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area: “Coach Kyle Shanahan said he does not expect Kittle’s ankle to have any impact on his ability to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game or his ability to make a an impact.”

Kittle has been banged up a few times this regular season, and he was a huge part of the team’s run game during the divisional-round matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

It’s not surprising that Kittle was once more needing some TLC from San Francisco’s training staff after Saturday’s game. He’s going to be a key player for the 49ers against the Packers and had a monster game against this same team during the regular season.
