The Dallas Cowboys struck gold last offseason by acquiring edge rusher Robert Quinn. Now coming off an outstanding season, the Cowboys are reportedly prepared to lose Quinn to free agency.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys are likely going to let Quinn walk this offseason with the pass rusher heading for a lucrative contract. The 29-year-old defensive end led the team with 11.5 sacks and recorded 22 quarterback hits in 14 games.
Quinn missed the first two games of the season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He also missed the preseason with a broken hand, which cost him a chance to get fresh before the season.
While Quinn has been inconsistent and dealt with injuries throughout his NFL career, he will enter 2020 with 80.5 career sacks in 125 games.
Given what he demonstrated this past season and the need for pass rushers across the NFL, Quinn will receive plenty of lucrative offers this offseason.
