Patrick Mahomes: ‘It’s not gonna be (Brady) last year any time soon’

If anyone was concerned that Sunday’s clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots might be the final duel we’ll see between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, don’t be.

Mahomes spoke to reporters on Thursday about the upcoming matchup against Brady and if he thinks New England’s 42-year-old quarterback will play beyond 2019. Needless to say, the reigning NFL MVP expects plenty more head-to-head matchups in the coming years.

Mahomes is set to start against New England for the third time in two years. While the 24-year-old played well in both games, Brady emerged victorious in the two prior meetings, including the AFC Championship Game.

Mahomes believes he’ll have a shot to do more than just even up the head-to-head series. A win on Sunday would be a start and there’s a good chance the two quarterbacks see each other again in the playoffs. If Brady plays longer, though, Mahomes might even have the opportunity to surpass the future Hall of Famer in the series.
