WATCH: Wisconsin K Zach Hintze nails last-second, 62-yard field goal

It’s difficult for collegiate kickers to get positive national attention. That’s about to change after Wisconsin’s kickoff specialist Zach Hintze just nailed a 62-yard field goal right before halftime.

The Badgers started their drive with under 30 seconds remaining before halftime. A big 17-yard run by Aron Cruickshank put the ball near midfield. Quarterback Jack Coan delivered a quick throw to move the ball into Purdue’s territory, setting up Hintze for the school record.

The moment was incredible as Wisconsin’s entire sideline rushed to Hintze to celebrate with him at halftime. FOX’s camera angle from behind the post also perfectly captured the slimmest of margin for the make.

While it’s difficult to trust college kickers in clutch spots, head coach Paul Chryst trusted his kickoff specialist to drill the 62-yard field goal. Now he knows who he can rely on from deep and the Badgers will come out of the locker room with plenty of momentum.
