DJ LeMahieu

New York Yankees first baseman DJ LeMahieu made a huge mistake during the top of the second inning Friday night against the Minnesota Twins.

With a man on second and one out in the inning, C.J. Cron popped up to first base. It was a routine infield fly, and LeMahieu didn’t seem to have any issue tracking it down.

Until he did.

This absolute whiff was an embarrassing moment for LeMahieu, to be sure. Yet he was bailed out by his teammates when, one batter later, Luis Arraez grounded into an inning-ending double play.
