WATCH: Didi Gregorius breaks game open with eye-popping grand slam in Game 2 of ALDS

The New York Yankees slowly chipped away at the Minnesota Twins on Saturday for an early lead. Shortstop Didi Gregorius then put an exclamation point on it all with a massive grand slam to break the game open.

New York loaded the bases in the third inning to chase Minnesota’s starting pitcher Randy Dobnak from the game. The Twins called upon one of their top relievers and it backfired. After a single, hit by pitch, Gregorius’ massive swing made it a seven-run game.

Gregorius knew the ball was leaving the yard as soon as it left his bat. While he admired his grand slam, New York’s fans went wild in Yankee Stadium in celebration of the huge lead.

While Minnesota hung around early in Game 1, Game 2 is proving that the Yankees are simply the superior team.
