Report: Jaguars TE James O’Shaughnessy out for season with torn ACL

James O'Shaughnessy torn ACL

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost emerging tight end James O’Shaughnessy for the season as an MRI determined he tore his ACL.

O’Shaughnessy had been having the best season of his career for the Jaguars in 2019 before being injured Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

A former fifth-round pick out of Illinois State, he had caught 14 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns in four-plus games this season and was quickly becoming a go-to weapon for Gardner Minshew in key situations.

With O’Shaughnessy out of commission, it may be time for rookie Josh Oliver to step up and take over where the veteran left off, if he can get healthy enough to suit up on game days.
