Report: Drew Brees to start Sunday for Saints vs Cardinals

The New Orleans Saints will get their leader back, as Drew Brees reportedly will start Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, per Dianna Russini and Ed Werder of ESPN.

Brees practiced all week, albeit in a limited capacity, following an extremely swift recovery from thumb surgery.

He reportedly looked very sharp when he did practice, and on Friday head coach Sean Payton hinted the veteran could start when he declined to name Teddy Bridgewater the starter for Sunday’s game.

The Saints won five straight games with Bridgewater under center and are also getting Alvin Kamara back Sunday. This is a clear contender in the NFC and it appears things are trending in a positive way for a deep playoff run.
