Matt LaFleur: ‘We’ll see’ if Davante Adams plays on ‘SNF’ vs. Chiefs

Nearly a month after suffering a turf toe injury against the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams’ status for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs is still up in the air.

Adams couldn’t participate in the team’s practice on Friday, but head coach Matt LaFleur left the door open for the team’s top receiver to play on Sunday Night Football.

While Adams is feeling significantly better and believes he’s close to a return, his lack of availability to practice even in a limited fashion makes it unlikely he plays in Week 8.

Even if Kansas City is still without star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, its offense likely won’t struggle to put up points. Adams’ return to the field would be a monumental boost for Green Bay’s receiving corps, which is currently led by an injured Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison.
