Keenan Allen (hamstring) a game-time decision on Sunday vs. Bears

In a season that has seen so little go right for the Los Angeles Chargers, it could now be without star receiver Keenan Allen for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Allen suffered a hamstring injury during the middle of the week and was held out of practice on Thursday and Friday. Now, head coach Anthony Lynn is indicating Allen will be a game-time decision against Chicago.

The Pro Bowl receiver’s absence the past two practices make it even more likely that he’ll either be limited in Week 8 or the team will rule him out entirely. Allen currently leads the team in targets (70), receiving yards (564) and plays of 20-plus yards (nine).

If Allen is sidelined, Mike Williams would step in as the team’s No. 1 receiver. It could also lead to more targets for tight end Hunter Henry and running back Austin Ekeler.
