David Johnson likely to be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game

A week after playing just two snaps against the New York Giants, running back David Johnson will be a game-time decision for Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints.

Cardinals general manager Steve Keim spoke on Friday and indicated Johnson’s status for Sunday’s game likely wouldn’t be decided until he warms up before the game.

Johnson entered Arizona’s Week 7 contest as a game-time decision with an ankle and back injury. He took the field for the first play of the game, then came off the field and was replaced by Chase Edmonds.

Edmonds dominated New York’s defense with 150 scrimmage yards and three rushing touchdowns. Given the caution Arizona exercised with Johnson last week and Edmonds’ success in a workhorse role, the Cardinals could take the same approach against New Orleans.
