Fans were not even seated for Thursday night’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos when they were treated to some history.

By virtue of a 13-yard pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce midway through the first quarter, the reigning NFL MVP became the fastest player at his position to record 7,500-plus passing yards.

Mahomes beats out Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner on the list, doing it in three fewer games.

The former first-round pick entered Thursday’s action having put up 7,485 passing yards with 64 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions in just 23 career starts.

If we were to extrapolate those numbers to the 273 games Tom Brady has started in his career, Mahomes would finish with north of 88,000 passing yards and 760 touchdowns. That’s just insanity.
