Chargers fire offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt

The Los Angeles Chargers have fired offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, one day after they beat the Chicago Bears in the Windy City.

This move really isn’t all that surprising, however. The Chargers have not looked good offensively of late, though one could argue that has more to do with the way training camp holdout Melvin Gordon has struggled, rather than anything else.

Following Week 8, the Chargers rank sixth in passing yards per game (281.1), 28th in rushing yards per game (69.5) and 23rd in points per game (19.6).

Whisenhunt had been the coordinator for the Chargers since the 2016 season. Based on recent reports, this won’t be the only major move the organization makes in the near future.
