Bruce Bochy interested in returning to MLB as a manager

MLB trade rumors

When three-time World Series champion manager Bruce Bochy made his way to opposing teams’ stadiums this past regular season, he was met with applause and tributes.

The future Hall of Famer had announced prior to the season that he was going to retire after spending a combined quarter century as a manager for the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants.

Talking to Chris Russo on Sirius XM Radio on Thursday, Bochy surprisingly indicated that he’d be interested in returning to managing after some time off. “I’d love to have one more shot,” Bochy said (h/t the San Francisco Chronicle).

When pressed about it, Bochy had a rather interesting response.

“I’m just hitting the pause button,’ Bochy noted. “That’s all, you know, and taking a sabbatical here for a year and then, you know, I’ll see where I’m at. I don’t know how I’m gonna feel.”

It goes without saying that someone of Bochy’s ilk would be in high demand for managerial vacancies.

The 64-year-old led the Giants to World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. He remains one of the most-respected minds in the Major League Baseball world.
