Bill Belichick showed just how much he respects Saquon Barkley with a telling quote ahead of the Thursday night matchup between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.

Barkley has been out of commission the past two games with a high-ankle sprain, but there is a real chance he plays Thursday night after an incredible recovery.

In three games so far, he’s tallied 311 yards and a touchdown from scrimmage. Last year as a rookie, he became just the third first-year player to eclipse 2,000 yards from scrimmage, and he’s clearly one of the best players in the game today.

Needless to say, Belichick would be just fine if Barkley didn’t play Thursday night.
