The Alabama basketball program lost another young player to injury, as four-star freshman Juwan Gary has reportedly suffered a “serious” knee injury.

Matt Zenitz of AL.com shared the news, writing “Juwan Gary has a knee injury that’s feared to be a serious one, which was first reported by Bama Insider.”

Shortly afterward, the school released a statement indicating Gary will miss the season with a torn ACL.

It’s the second huge injury to hit the Alabama basketball program, as junior college forward James Rojas suffered a season-ending knee injury last month.

Gary was Alabama’s highest-ranked recruit for the 2019-20 season coming out of Gray Academy in Columbia, South Carolina. Zenitz noted he was “rated as the No. 93 overall player nationally in this year’s recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.”
