WATCH: Lions’ Jarrad Davis literally takes play off

Most NFL defenses struggle to contain Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with 11 defenders going all out.

Imagine what happens when a key player decides to take a play off. That’s what the Detroit Lions were faced with Sunday against Kansas City.

Linebacker Jarrad Davis decided to literally take a play off. We’re not kidding. Check this bummer of an effort from the former first-round pick.

Some say that Davis was probably attempting to spy Mahomes. But that makes no real sense. He’s not a major threat to run the ball.

No harm, no foul. Mahomes failed to connect with Demarcus Robinson deep down the field on this play.

Either way, we’re sure Davis will be hearing from defensive-minded head coach Matt Patricia after he watches the tape. He took this Lions fan’s signage before the game too literally.
