Michigan State has a pretty good run defense. In fact, heading into Week 5 the Spartans were tied for second in the nation allowing just 1.71 yards per attempt. On Saturday, facing a 4th-and-1, Indiana decided to tempt fate with a toss sweep.
It went…poorly.
Needing one yard, the Hoosiers lost seven.
Indiana head coach Tom Allen may want to take a deeper dive into his game plan the next time he wants to challenge Michigan State’s defense in a critical situation like that.
