USC Athletic Director Lynn Swann resigns

It starts at the top. Despite two wins to open the 2019 season, the USC Trojans football team does not look like a legit contender. That’s magnified with the torn ACL young quarterback J.T. Daniels suffered in the season opener.

From a basketball perspective, the Trojans have been mired in both drama and inconsistent on-court play.

This led to Athletic Director Lynn Swann announcing his resignation from the University on Monday.

A former star football player at USC, Swann has been the school’s athletic director since 2016. His decision to retain head football coach Clay Helton has drawn criticism both in Southern California and nationally.

It remains to be seen what this shake up means for Helton and others involved in athletics at USC. But it could be the first of many changes.
