A rival fan’s decision to take on the New York Mets’ Twitter account backfired in dramatic fashion with an epic takedown that the fan might never recover from.

After the Mets’ account posted a tweet highlighting starting pitcher Jacob deGrom’s stellar numbers before Friday’s game, the fan responded by saying Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka was better. It took less than five minutes for New York to clap back with an epic burn.

While some team accounts might have taken it a little easier on the fan, New York’s social media guru went straight to the heart by posting a screenshot of the Tennessee Volunteers humiliating loss to Georgia State.

That fan came into the weekend hoping for a nice evening on Twitter before Saturday’s rivalry game against the Florida Gators. Instead, he might have been burned worse than Florida will burn Tennessee’s defense on Saturday.
