Ezekiel Elliott on rejoining the Cowboys: ‘I’ve been ready’

Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott could soon rejoin the team after holding out throughout training camp and the preseason.

Recent reports suggest that the two sides are close to an extension that would make Elliott the highest-paid running back in NFL history. Elliott seemed to confirm these reports earlier on Tuesday in returning to Dallas from Mexico.

Upon his return in Dallas, Zeke made sure to note that he’s been ready to rejoin the team. It’s all about what type of offer the Cowboys are willing to give him.

As provocative as these talks have been, we’re weary to conclude that an extension is imminent. Every time reports pop up in that regard, other reports come in countering those claims.

What we do know is that Elliott is now back in Dallas. Something could get done here soon. If so, he’ll be on the field Week 1 Sunday against the New York Giants.
