Cowboys continue to ease Ezekiel Elliott back into action

Ezekiel Elliott COVID-19

It sure looks like Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will have a limited workload in the season opener against the New York Giants Sunday afternoon.

Elliott ended his holdout on Wednesday after signing a record-breaking extension with the Cowboys. He returned to practice in a limited capacity later in the day.

In talking about his team’s best player, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett noted that Elliott will once again be limited in practice on Thursday.

Time is certainly running out for the All-Pro back to be a full go in Dallas’ season opener.

The good news? As Garrett notes, Elliott appears to be in good shape after sitting out all of training camp and the preseason.

The better news? Dallas faces a lesser opponent on Sunday and has impressive rookie running back Tony Pollard prepared to help Elliott shoulder the load.
