WATCH: Eli Manning is taking this preseason thing seriously

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning got the start for his team against the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday evening.

The two-time Super Bowl winner has played more during the preseason than most veterans of his ilk, primarily because the Giants want to compare him to rookie No. 6 pick Daniel Jones.

While Jones has been more impressive this summer, Manning did something early Thursday evening that we’ve seen from very few quarterbacks.

He ran full speed ahead and threw a down-field back on a run.

This helped spring Wayne Gallman for a 14-yard run, setting up a field goal for the Giants.

If nothing else, youngsters on the roster could learn something from Mr. Manning here. He’s not taking anything for granted. He’s playing hard during the preseason. That can never be seen as a bad thing.
