Chicago Bears quarterback Chase Daniel never saw the snap coming at him, late in the second quarter, and then he made things worse with a fumbling, bumbling safety.

Set up in shotgun, Daniel wasn’t ready for the ball when it came his way. Then, after it bounced off him, he couldn’t secure it, ultimately falling down on it right as he fell out of the back of the end zone.

Daniel is a veteran and his place on Chicago’s roster is likely secure. Yet this was the kind of play that he’d like to bury in a deep, dark place and never think of again.
