Six players and both managers suspended in Reds-Pirates brawl

Major League Baseball handed out one of the biggest disciplines in league history stemming from the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds brawl from Tuesday evening.

Pirates pitcher Keone Kela was suspended 10 games for throwing in the area of Reds veteran Derek Dietrich. This is what led to the spectacular brawl. Meanwhile, Cincinnati reliever Amir Garrett was suspended eight games for legitimately running to the Pirates dugout and attempting to fight the entire team.

Among the most noticeable participants in the fight, Yasiel Puig has been suspended three games. The brawl took place minutes after Puig was traded to the Cleveland Indians.

Reds manager David Bell (six games) and Pirates manager Clint Hurdle (two games) were also suspended.

While this brawl was rather entertaining, MLB made sure that those involved did not get off without punishment. These are some pretty major suspensions right here.
