Report: Eagles and Cardinals swap young defenders in trade

NFL teams are going to be spending the next week-plus figuring out just how their final 53-man rosters are going to look.

This will likely include multiple trades as the preseason comes to a conclusion. Albeit minor, the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals pulled off such a trade on Thursday.

Philadelphia moved second-year defensive tackle Bruce Hector to Arizona for 2017 sixth-round pick, safety Rudy Ford.

This is unlikely to move the needle for either team. But it does give them more depth at areas of need.

Hector, 24, played in eight games for Philadelphia last season, recording two tackles and a half of sack.

Meanwhile, Ford has seen action in 23 games over two seasons with the Cardinals. He started one game for the team in 2018.
