Cleveland Browns fans had to be a bit alarmed when it was reported on Wednesday that new star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a hip injury.
A long with second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield, OBJ has been the talk of Browns camp. Any long-term injury would have impacted this team heading into Week 1.
There’s now good news on this front. Beckham Jr. say he’s not concerned about the hip injury and will be ready for the regular-season opener.
It was previously noted that OBJ is dealing with a hip pointer. Depending on the severity, that’s not necessarily a long-term injury. The Pro Bowl receiver confirmed as much Thursday.
At issue here is a lack of training camp reps between Mayfield and his new star receiver. Beckham Jr. is now unlikely to play for the remainder of the preseason
