Fred Taylor lashes out at Jaguars for ranking Tony Boselli over him on all-time greats list

The Jacksonville Jaguars released “Jaguars All-25” to commemorate the top-25 non-active players in franchise history, and Fred Taylor wasn’t No. 1 on the list. Instead, former All-Pro left tackle Tony Boselli earned the top spot, which Taylor was not happy about in the least.

Taylor posted a message to his Twitter account, writing, “I’m not sure who voted but they missed. What were you guys doing for the 11 YEARS I carried the team,” noting someday “someone (other than me) will recognize how valuable I was.”

To answer the question about “who voted” all one has to do is take a look at the list, which states it was voted on by a panel that included “members of the local media who covered the team throughout the majority of its existence.”

Taylor is certainly one of the greatest Jaguars to ever play, and he landed No. 2 overall on the list. In his 11 years with the team, Taylor rushed for 11,271 yards and 62 touchdowns, ranking 17th on the all-time rushing list.

However, it’s hard to argue that Boselli doesn’t deserve the top spot. One of the most dominant players at any position during his playing days, he made five Pro Bowls and was a First-Team All-Pro three times in his seven years as a pro. He was also voted to the NFL’s All-Decade team in the 1990’s.
