Former Maryland QB Kasim Hill transfers to Tennessee

After a rollercoaster two seasons with the Maryland Terrapins, former four-star quarterback Kasim Hill is headed for a fresh start following his transfer to join the Tennessee Volunteers.

According to GoVols247’s Wes Rucker, Hill is already enrolled at Tennessee and began practicing with his new teammates in Knoxville.

Hill, 247Sports’ No. 10 pro-style quarterback in 2017, signed with Maryland and saw immediate playing time upon his arrival. He suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during his third game then returned last season. Unfortunately for Hill, he tore his left ACL in November.

He showed flashes of being a good collegiate quarterback when he was healthy. Hill will be required to sit out the 2019 season, but the move should allow him to fully recover from his second major knee injury and learn Tennessee’s offense.

He could emerge as a starting quarterback for the Volunteers in 2020, depending on how junior Jarrett Guarantano performs this season.
