Andy Reid on Brett Favre: ‘Looks like he could still play’

Brett Favre

It’s a little too late in the summer to start that entire Favre Watch thing that took over half of a news cycle this past offseason.

Just don’t tell that to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who had Brett Favre in town during practices this week.

Obviously in a joking mood, Mr. Reid indicated that the Hall of Famer “looks like he could still play” and wanted to start said rumor right now.

Let’s take it one step further and hope there’s a quarterback competition between reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and Mr. Favre. At the very least, can we get them to partake in a passing contest?

It seems to be a lifetime ago that Favre and Reid worked with one another on the Green Bay Packers from 1992-98. For some of you, it might have actually been a lifetime ago.

Favre, 49, last suited up in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings back in 2010. Rumors about his return to the league have now turned into good-hearted jokes. Reid is the latest to capitalize.
