On a night when the Los Angeles Angels returned home and honored fallen teammate Tyler Skaggs in a pregame ceremony, Mike Trout honored his best friend in his own special way.

On the first pitch he saw wearing Skaggs’ No. 45 jersey on Friday night, Trout launched a two-run home run to give the Angels an early lead and providing everyone in the stadium with a reason to smile.

As he rounded the bases, Trout looked towards the family section where Skaggs’ family is sitting on Friday night. Seeing him congratulated by teammates all wearing the same uniform made it all the more incredible.

Trout and Skaggs spent much of their careers growing up together on and off the diamond. In an extremely emotional game, Trout came through immediately and honored his friend in the perfect way possible. Hopefully, he’ll be able to get the ball for Skaggs’ family after the game.
