WATCH: Blue Jays complete comeback with walk-off HR

The Toronto Blue Jays found themselves down 9-2 in the sixth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at home Saturday.

No one could have foreseen what would follow. Toronto added a run in the sixth and two in the eighth to make it a 9-5 game heading in to what seemed to be the final stanza.

The Jays had other ideas. With two on and no outs, stud rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went deep for a three-run blast — his 10th of the season — to make it a one-run game in the ninth.

After Tampa was able to get two outs without anyone reaching base, Brandon Drury went deep to force extra innings.

The Jays were not done there. Both teams failed to score heading into the bottom of the 12th. That’s when outfielder Teoscar Hernández took an Emilio Pagan offering deep for a walk-off homer.

What a comeback for the Jays. It might have been the highlight of their season. From Tampa Bay’s perspective, however, this could loom large in the AL Playoff race.

The team entered Saturday’s action one-half game ahead of the Oakland Athletics for the second of two wild card spots.
