Report: Dodgers considering Blue Jays’ All-Star Marcus Stroman

As the Los Angeles Dodgers continue to explore potential options to bolster the bullpen, the front office is now reportedly exploring alternatives and could go after one of the top starting pitchers available.

According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers have recognized the lack of impact relievers available leading up to the trade deadline. The team is now considering targeting a starting pitcher, including Toronto Blue Jays All-Star Marcus Stroman.

The fit makes even more sense after Los Angeles placed Ross Stripling on the injured list. Stroman would fit nicely in Los Angeles as a No. 3 starter behind Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler to strengthen the team’s potential postseason rotation.

If the Dodgers acquire a starting pitcher, Rosenthal notes that the team would then move one of its current starters into the bullpen.

Kenta Maeda could become one of the options, following the same path the team employed with him in the postseason last year.
