Randy Gregory to apply for NFL reinstatement this week, per report

Randy Gregory

Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Randy Gregory will apply for reinstatement by the NFL this week, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Gregory was suspended indefinitely by the NFL in February for violating the league’s substance of abuse policy. It was his fourth suspension and second “indefinite” suspension of his career.

Last year, after missing two entire seasons due to his suspensions, Gregory broke out for the Cowboys. He played in 14 games, earning one start, tallying 25 tackles and six sacks.

A highly touted recruit coming out of Nebraska, the only thing that has stood in the way of Gregory excelling at the NFL level has been his use of a banned substance. It’s a substance that may not be banned for much longer, which is likely why he’s applying for reinstatement so soon after being suspended indefinitely.
