Pro Bowl DT Mike Daniels will visit with Browns, per report

Former Green Bay Packers Pro Bowl defensive tackle Mike Daniels will have no shortage of suitors after being cut, but his first visit is with the Cleveland Browns.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke this news Thursday morning.

Cleveland is stacked with talent across the defensive front. However, the Browns were very much in on Gerald McCoy before he signed with the Carolina Panthers, so clearly general manager John Dorsey wants to provide even more stoutness up front.

Daniels was a shocking cut by Green Bay earlier this week. The former fourth-round pick out of Iowa has been one of the NFL’s best nose tackles since early in his career. Last season, he ended up on injured reserve in December after playing 10 games.

Over his seven-year career, Daniels has racked up 29 sacks from his nose tackle spot. His ability to pressure quarterbacks from inside is a potent combination when paired with his run-stuffing skill.

If the Browns don’t end up signing him, Daniels could end up with the defending champs.
