Following the surprising trade of Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers, it appears that the Oklahoma City Thunder are blowing things up.

That could very well include trading former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook. Among the teams with mutual interest, the Miami Heat have come up a great deal in recent days.

Westbrook seemed to confirm that on Wednesday by liking an Instagram post of him in a Heat uniform.

Russ had to know this wouldn’t go undetected. It adds a completely new layer to what could be a divorce from the only team Westbrook has known.

Whether the point guard joining Jimmy Butler in South Beach is a fit remains to be seen. But we’ve seen the Heat pull a rabbit out of their hat already this season.

With no real cap room to work with and lacking draft capital, Miami already added Butler in a sign-and-trade earlier this month.

Picking up Westbrook would give Miami one of the best backcourts in an NBA that has seen the dynamics change a whole lot since the end of the Finals.
