Dolphins fire offensive line coach Pat Flaherty, promote Dave DeGugliemo

Miami Dolphins 2016 Schedule

The Miami Dolphins aren’t messing around as rookie head coach Brian Flores establishes himself and his new culture in South Beach.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the team has fired offensive line coach Pat Flaherty, who reportedly “struggled to implement the new system” since spring.

In his stead, analyst Dave DeGugliemo was promoted to offensive line coach.

Flaherty, 63, was hired by Miami in February of this year. Previously, he has been an offensive line coach for the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Jacksonville Jaguars going back to the 2004 season.

DeGugliemo has been an offensive line coach for Miami in the past (2009-11) and has been a league stalwart at this position going back to the mid-2000s.
