Report: Cowboys, Dak Prescott remain ‘far apart’ in contract talks

After seeing the Philadelphia Eagles sign their star quarterback to an extension, Dallas Cowboys fans will likely have to wait a bit longer to sign their franchise quarterback extended.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Dan Prescott and the Cowboys are far apart in contract talks and discussions could linger far into training camp before a resolution is reached.

According to the report, both sides are expected to put a pin in their extension negotiations and pursue further dialogue at a later date.

Prescott is entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract and is scheduled to make just $2.025 million in base salary this season. If an extension is to be reached, Prescott could clear $30 million in average annual value.
