Red Sox coach has hilarious story about London

The Boston Red Sox are set to begin a two-game international series in London Saturday. Two of the game’s most hallowed teams taking on one another in front of foreign fans.

As much as baseball might not be the UK’s pastime, it’s gaining in popularity.

The same thing can’t be said about Red Sox assistant hitting coach Andy Barkett and Holloween. What do those two things have in common? Well, just ask Mr. Barkett himself.

He shared this glorious story as the assistant coach attempted to make his way on to the field at London Stadium on Friday.

The British. Always so polite.

This story itself is about as good as it gets. Halloween did originate in Europe as the Celtic festival of Samhain. But it’s taken on an entirely new meaning since then.

But we digress.

Game 1 of the series gets going at 1:00 pm ET on Saturday afternoon. Here’s to hoping Barkett has his credentials somewhere nearby his costume.

We certainly don’t need a repeat of the Jeremy Lin incident.
