Raptors fans harass Stephen Curry’s mom after Game 5

Game 5 of the NBA Finals didn’t necessarily paint Toronto Raptors fans in the best of lights.

It started with fans inside Scotiabank Arena cheering the serious injury Warriors star Kevin Durant suffered in the second quarter.

It was so bad that Raptors players on the court told the fans to be quiet.

Following Golden State’s win to force a Game 6, a number of Raptors fans went after Stephen Curry’s mom, Sonya, verbally.

We’re not going to include the video here as it may not be appropriate for all audiences. But it was certainly a bad look. Check it out.

It’s understandable that Raptors fans are excited. They remain one win away from a first ever NBA title. That doesn’t mean harassing a well-respected woman is the way to go.

Remember, the Currys spent a nice amount of Stephen’s childhood in Toronto. They are known there. And that’s the treatment Mrs. Curry gets? Yuck.

We’re just hoping that if this series goes back to Toronto for Game 7, Raptors fans will change their tune. The scene Monday evening in Canada was plain ugly. This is the latest example of that.
