Mets’ Noah Syndergaard sent home with strep throat

New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard could very well make his next start this coming weekend. But he’s not with the team during its current doubleheader against the Yankees in New York.

The Mets sent Syndergaard home with a strep throat.

This seems minor in the grand scheme of things. But it’s a continuation of some odd illnesses Syndergaard has suffered through recently.

Remember, he missed time last season with hand, foot and mouth disease. He’s also been sidelined to injuries a lot over the past several seasons, having made a combined 46 games since the end of the 2016 season.

Syndergaard, 26, is pitching to a 4-4 record with a 4.45 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 14 starts this season.
