Jets name Eagles VP Joe Douglas new general manager

The New York Jets made some news ahead of the weekend, announcing Friday evening that they have hired former Philadelphia Eagles VP of Player Personnel Joe Douglas to be their next general manager.

This comes less than a month after New York surprisingly fired former GM Mike Maccagnan. It’s also going to be met with a ton of optimism from those around the NFL world.

Douglas had served in his previous role with the Eagles since 2016. He played a huge part in constructing the roster that won Philadelphia’s first ever Super Bowl back in February of 2018.

Prior to that, Douglas spent 16 years in the Ravens’ front office.
