Desmond Green arrested

UFC fighter Desmond Green was arrested on Tuesday and is facing multiple felony manslaughter charges stemming from a multi-car accident.

Green is accused of causing a five-vehicle pileup on August 18 of 2018 that led to the deaths of two women. TMZ Sports reported Wednesday that police just wrapped up a long investigation that points to Green as the person who started it.

Per TMZ Sports: “The initial collision started a chain-reaction … with Green’s car striking several vehicles, killing a 67-year-old woman and a 76-year-old woman. Cops say 2 others were also seriously injured.”

A toxicology report showed Green had alcohol and drugs in his system at the time of the crash. Witnesses told police after the wreck that Green threw something out of his vehicle. The container they found was a marijuana grinder, which had cannabis in it. Additionally, Green was found to have a bag of cocaine in the front seat of his vehicle.

Now Green is facing multiple charges and stands to be sentenced to years in prison if convicted of the felony DUI manslaughter charges.

With a professional MMA record of 23-8, Green last fought and defeated Charles Jourdain at UFC Fight Night in May.
