Now this is how you start a game. Jay Bruce and the Seattle Mariners are visiting Cleveland this fine Sunday, but the right fielder felt right at home in the top of the first inning.

With the bases loaded, Bruce took Cody Anderson downtown with a towering moon-shot grand slam.

Bruce hasn’t exactly been red hot at the plate this year for Seattle, hitting just .182 before Sunday’s game. But he has been hitting with power, and this latest home run was his 11th of the season. It also gave him 19 RBI, and it gave Seattle a big boost in the quest to escape Cleveland with a win.
