Blooper, the mascot of the Atlanta Braves, has friendly rivalries brewing with some of baseball’s biggest stars. San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is one of them.
Prior to Wednesday’s game, Blooper approached Machado looking for an autograph. But after Machado signed, it was revealed to be a check, conveniently worth $300 million.
Check and mate. Score one for the mascot.
In all seriousness, stuff like this is pretty fun to see. Baseball is meant to be a fun game. The mascots are obviously there to help make the experience more enjoyable for the crowd. It’s refreshing to see any player, especially a star like Machado, play along.
