WATCH: Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant go back-to-back for Cubs

The Chicago Cubs entered Friday’s matinee tilt with the Cincinnati Reds on a major roll offensively. The team is averaging nearly seven runs over the past seven games.

This didn’t change early on against Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani. After a Kyle Schwarber homer in the first inning, Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo went back-to-back in the third with mammoth blasts.

Bryant’s two-run shot traveled 421 feet over the left-center field fence. Meanwhile, Rizzo’s shot traveled 426 feet and hit off the right field scoreboard at Wrigley.

These were not cheap shots by any stretch of the imagination. DeSclafani really has to wonder what hit him here.

Bryant and Rizzo are two of four Cubs players who entered Friday’s action on pace for 35-plus homers. They added to that tally here in a big way.
